Good News for Leyton Station

24 Jan 2023

It is exciting to hear that TfL has managed to secure £14m from the government to redevelop the station with a new ticket hall and step-free access.

Step-free access is long overdue at many of the boroughs stations, so while this progress is welcome Liberal Democrats will continue to campaign for step-free access across the whole of Waltham Forest.

The redeveloped station will have other new amenities such as a new ticket hall and a new gate line to ease congestion.

“We welcome the commitment to making Leyton more accessible and hope that the experience of using the station will be much better for all commuters,” said local Liberal Democrat campaigner Naomi McCarthy.
