Residents are raising concerns over the loss of many mature trees across Grove Green.

Recent removals, including a mature lime tree in Madeira Road, two trees in Warren Road, and three in Norlington Road, have altered the street's character and reduced shade, pollution protection, and noise reduction.

Residents are worried that the council has a track record of replacing mature trees with smaller species that won’t have the same benefits.

Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Naomi McCarthy said, “With so many missing trees it is hard to see how the council will replace them all any time soon. This is drastically changing the character of our area.”
